It's Top Gun Sequel time! Hollywood's Paramount Pictures is working on a sequel to the 1986 aviation action flick "Top Gun," New York magazine reported. The studio has made offers to producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott, who collaborated on the original. Tom Cruise, star of the first film, is expected to reprise his role of brash flying ace Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, but it would be a smaller role, the magazine said.
Paramount reportedly is also courting "The Usual Suspects" scribe Christopher McQuarrie to write the screenplay for "Top Gun 2."
